The cat is out with a bag

Of the many adventures I had to share with you, I was waiting for an opportune moment to tell you of this one.

It was a rainy day in Goa. The market was shutting down. Yet, three stalls were enthusiastically selling their wares. It was then that I bought my reversible jhola: a black and grey beauty. With time, she aged, wrinkled and wobbled, making it difficult to carry, reaching for the ground each time. Finally, I had to let go.

It was also raining the day I accidentally found just the fabric I needed to give her a new life. I was overjoyed! Fabric was bought, sketches were made and tailor was instructed. It was a patient wait until my new beauty was in my hands.

These were her first shots. I sent them to my closest friends, asking for reactions. They were impressed. I was satisfied.

So, folks, the cat (me) is out with a bag. An old reversible jhola was recycled to use as lining, also making provision for a pocket inside the new bag. Additionally, two fabrics have been used. The one that can prominently be seen is embroidered with gold sequins in a floral shape. The other is used for sides and straps. There is enough volume to carry an A4 sized book, gadgets of daily use, products of daily use, etc. A zipper is used to open and close it. I’m retailing it for approximately Rs. 650, shipping additional. You can place your order with me via email or by commenting on the post or on facebook. It would take 2 weeks to construct and 1 week to deliver.

Now that we’re done with the details, it’s time for some modeling. Of course, all three times that she has been out on the town, it has been to the movies.

The jhola was up for display at the yard sale. A very enthusiastic Aastha placed an order with me and I’m working on a design for her. Aniruddha was very jolly and posed with it. He insisted I must not sell it, she being my first. Ay ay captain, am only taking orders for new ones. 🙂
